THE WILDERNESS: Becoming a People of Ears

The Wilderness

Becoming a People of Ears

March 17, 2024

Main Scripture: Psalm 23

Additional Scriptures: Romans 5:3-4, John 10:14-16, Isaiah 50:4

POINTS:

  • The heritage of God’s people is a Wilderness Experience with Him.

  • God is our Guide in the Wilderness, our Shepherd.

  • The Negev desert is hard living, this is where we know the Shepherd.

  • The Wilderness is where God builds His people.

  • God forms and reforms our ears in the wilderness because the Shepherd leads His sheep with His voice.

  • Are you a person of words or ears?

  • God is personal; the Lord is my Shepherd.

  • God is our defender. The staff is used to protect His sheep.

  • God teaches us in the Wilderness how to go from tuft to tuft so that we can say I lack no good thing.

  • The Shepherd comforts us and teaches us how to say “Even though” in the shadow of difficult circumstances.

  • The shadows eventually break and give way to still waters and green pastures. It’s either here or in heaven, but it is ours in Christ.

  • Our Guide will prepare a celebration for us when we make it to the Promised Land.
