2 CORINTHIANS: The Power of Generosity

THE POWER OF GENEROSITY

July 30, 2023

Main Scripture: 2 Corinthians 9:1-15, Luke 9:10-17

Additional Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 9:11

POINTS:

  • Thankfulness: the acknowledgment of God’s power working in our weakness.

  • Graces: the unexpected, undeserved, free & generous gifts of God.

  • Everywhere God allows reduction, He brings multiplication.

  • Our worldly response to reduction is reduction.

  • How often do you give out of your need vs. out of the overflow?

  • The question “How much more do you want us to give?” leads us to comparison, criticism, and burnout.

  • The miracle of multiplication didn’t happen in the Master's hands but in the disciple's hands.

  • Abound: to have so much that there are leftovers.

  • God wants to use our reduction as a training ground for the next season.

  • God wants to use reduction to reduce your pride and increase His humility working in you.

  • To live in the power of generosity, we must live surrendered.

  • Only what we give away can be multiplied.
