THE POWER OF REPENTANCE

POINTS:

• Confronting sin is both excruciating and terrifying.

• Confronting sin is more about calling others up than it is about calling others out.

• We are all called to confront sin.

• Often the sin we see in others is really our own sin staring back at us.

• We must check our motives before we confront someone else’s sin. Often our motives to confront the sin in someone else comes from the unhealed places within us.

• If we really want connection we must allow ourselves to be seen.

• True community and belonging only happen when we begin with the premise that we are all sinners.

• Repentance is a gift.

• Godly grief produces repentance which produces a life without regret.

• Teshuvah (Repentance) = Return back to your identity.

• When we don’t live out of our God-given identity we break ourselves and one another.

• Jesus died for who you are, not for who you pretend to be.

• Repentance will always lead to reparation. Christians repair what is broken.
