THE WILDERNESS: Becoming a People of Ears
The Wilderness
Becoming a People of Ears
March 17, 2024
Main Scripture: Psalm 23
Additional Scriptures: Romans 5:3-4, John 10:14-16, Isaiah 50:4
POINTS:
The heritage of God’s people is a Wilderness Experience with Him.
God is our Guide in the Wilderness, our Shepherd.
The Negev desert is hard living, this is where we know the Shepherd.
The Wilderness is where God builds His people.
God forms and reforms our ears in the wilderness because the Shepherd leads His sheep with His voice.
Are you a person of words or ears?
God is personal; the Lord is my Shepherd.
God is our defender. The staff is used to protect His sheep.
God teaches us in the Wilderness how to go from tuft to tuft so that we can say I lack no good thing.
The Shepherd comforts us and teaches us how to say “Even though” in the shadow of difficult circumstances.
The shadows eventually break and give way to still waters and green pastures. It’s either here or in heaven, but it is ours in Christ.
Our Guide will prepare a celebration for us when we make it to the Promised Land.
