POINTS:

• Power Gifts vividly demonstrate God’s power over disease, demons, death, and every destructive force.

• Gift of Faith: The capacity to build up the church through a unique ability to see through to the unrealized purposes of God and unwaveringly trust God to accomplish those purposes.

• Gift of Healing: The ability to exercise faith that results in restoring people to physical, emotional, or spiritual health.

• Working of Miracles: God partners with His children to work a miracle through that person’s faith and prayer.

• Jesus says mountains will move but He doesn’t say how fast.

• Speech gifts are centered around the act of speaking.

• Prophecy: The ability to receive and proclaim openly a revealed message from God which prepares the church for obedience to Him and to the scriptures.

• Prophecy makes God’s unchanging revelation in Christ come alive for the present generation.

• It involves both revelation and application.

• Speaking in tongues: Speech inspired by the Holy Spirit in a language the speaker does not understand.

• Tongues as a prayer language is a means by which the Holy Spirit enables a person to pray, praise, and thank God, uninhibited by the need to conceptualize or put into words the movements of the heart.

• A message in tongues is a gift for the Church, but it must be followed by interpretation to fulfill its purpose.

• Discernment of Tongues: Receiving an interpretation of the message of tongues by the Holy Spirit.

• Discerning Gifts: Is it true? Is it loving? Does it give glory to Christ? Does it build up the body of Christ?
