FIGHT THE RIGHT FIGHT
Main Scriptures: Ephesians 4:25-32
Additional Scriptures: 2 Timothy 1:7, 1 John 4:18
POINTS:
We have conflict because we are all different. We see the top side of the iceberg with one another, but there is an underside that we don’t see.
Genders, personality, life-experiences, and trauma make up a big portion of the underside of the iceberg.
Miscommunication is the #2 problem in the world.
Unhealed trauma leads to triggers, triggers create in us a feeling of powerlessness, the feeling of powerlessness is where our fear comes from.
Fear creates negative narratives about the intent and motivation of one another and about our own worth.
Our powerless response to conflict will either be passive, aggressive, or passive/aggressive.
A powerful response always begins with prayer and scripture.
When we don’t address our negative narratives with prayer and scripture we give the devil a foothold in our internal narratives.
Prayer helps us to put off falsehood and put on God’s true righteousness, power, and goodness.
The right fight is always about healing the body.
“When this happened (describe the situation) the story I told myself was (describe the negative narrative) is this true?”
The Holy Spirit’s power is most evidenced in how we treat one another, bringing healing to the broken places no one else sees.
