Palm Sunday

Who are you crowning as King?

Apr. 10, 2022

Main Scriptures: Luke 19:28-40

Additional Scriptures: Luke 19:14, 20-21, 27; John 10:10, Psalm 118:26, Gen. 3:15, Zachariah 9:9, Matthew 11:28-30

POINTS:

  • Jesus is King whether we want Him to be or not.

  • We are all looking for a human hope (a hero)

  • “Where we are forbidden to honor a king, we will honor millionaires, athletes, even gangsters. Spiritual nature like bodily nature will be served. Deny it food and it will gobble poison.” CS Lewis

  • Whatever you are living for that is what you are serving and have crowned as king.

  • We all have a memory trace of the King

  • Jesus comes into our lives to be King.

  • Some of our biggest problems are because the things we’ve have crowned as king in our lives are oppressing us.

  • Jesus has come to set the oppressed free (Luke 4:18)

  • Jesus comes in humility not to bring judgement but to bear it.

  • With Jesus as our King we find out who we really are, because He is our Creator.

  • We make Jesus our King through worship and obedience.

  • If we only obey when we understand, then what we have isn’t obedience it is agreement.

  • Jesus is the King who won’t oppress you.

  • He is either in our life as a King or He is not in our life at all.
