POINTS:
Fire & Brimstone Preaching: using vivid descriptions of judgment and eternal damnation to encourage repentance.
Repentance: to turn around; to take an honest look at your sin and helplessness and turn from that to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
Truth without grace is not truth and grace without truth is not grace.
All of humanity knows the wrath of God because it’s deeply embedded in our conscience.
We witness God's wrath being revealed when we experience the consequences of our actions.
The wrath of God is the righteous justice and judgment of God that allows humanity to reap what they’ve sown.
The seven trumpets are warnings calling for humanity to repent.
Hell is the absence of God.
God’s love is revealed in His wrath.
God’s response to our brokenness is to go to the cross and reap what we’ve sown.
When we want to crucify others, we can be sure that we’ve forgotten the cross.
“Evangelism is just one beggar telling another beggar where to find bread.” D.T. Niles. This is our response to God’s wrath poured out on the cross.
