MEDITATION & PRAYER
Pastor Hope Flask
March 2, 2025
Main Scripture: Psalm 1:1-6
Additional Scriptures: Colossians 2:7, John 10:9-10, Matthew 7:13-14, James 1:2-6, Psalm 103:1-2, 22:14-15
POINTS:
Meditating on the Word of God is Listening to Him before we express our emotions to Him.
The law of the Lord is the revelation of God’s character through the person of Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the gate by which we enter the Law of the Lord.
Meditation: to think deeply or focus one's mind for a period of time, in silence or with the aid of chanting or murmuring. To patiently ponder the word by repeating the scripture over and over, putting emphasis on different words.
We are always meditating.
The key to which path you choose and your progression on either path is what you meditate on.
The counsel of the wicked - meditating on the accusations of Satan.
To stand in the way of a sinner - having a life bent on sin.
To sit in the seat of mockers - becoming an accusing voice to others.
Satan tries to get us to meet legitimate needs through illegitimate methods.
Satan is an interpreter, not an author, so don’t give him the pen.
Meditation serves as a bridge to prayer.
SOAP: Scripture, Observation, Application, & Prayer.
When we meditate on what Jesus has done for us, we are taken past conviction to delight.
