POINTS:
The Bible is the overarching story of the Lamb.
We live in an individualistic culture, therefore, we struggle to comprehend the significance and symbolism of the Passover truly.
In an individualistic culture, we either believe we have no debt against God or we assume that God's goodness requires forgiveness without judgment for sin.
Forgiveness always requires payment.
The Holy Spirit will bring us to trial and convict us of sin.
The mental courtroom is where we place our performance and the performance of others on trial.
In a mental courtroom, we are tortured by bitterness - bitterness destroys us by creating ruts in our brains - long-term bitterness creates strongholds.
Our divine weapon against bitterness is forgiveness.
Forgiveness is paying the debt someone owes us ourselves because we recognize that Jesus paid our debt.
Forgiveness is intentionally putting the love of God over the doorpost of someone who has wronged you.
There was no lamb on the table during the Passover supper with the disciples because Jesus was the Lamb at the table.
