POINTS:
We have a distorted view of suffering.
One lie we believe about suffering is that suffering makes us less usable and valuable to God.
Another lie we believe about suffering is that our comfort is what is primary in our relationship with God.
The third lie we believe about suffering is that the result of our performance is a measurement of God’s love for us.
If we believe these lies about our suffering, then we will believe them about suffering of others.
God calls us to be uncomfortable so that He can be our Comforter.
The Comforter doesn’t eliminate suffering, He softens it with truth.
Repentance is turning from the lies we believe and turning to the the truth of scripture. Repentance comforts us.
Everyone’s grief journey is unique.
Grief is a journey, one that is meant to be made with the Holy Spirit.
That journey is a journey of faith, and in the journey our faith is proved.
