Main Scripture: Ephesians 6:10-20
Additional Scriptures: 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, Mark 12:30, Romans 12:2, Colossians 3:2, Philippians 2:5, Psalm 139:23-24, Ephesians 4:26-27, Matthew 5:28, 1 John 1:9, 1 Cor, 15:9-10
POINTS:
Christianity says that the evil aggravated in the hearts of humans makes the world the way it is.
The helmet of salvation is meant to govern our thoughts so that we are protected and resilient against the enemy’s schemes.
The mind serves as the control center for the body’s function.
God can see the battlefield of life better than we can.
Offensive way vs. Everlasting way
Offensive way: Friendly fire used against God and others.
Satan uses temptation and accusation to lead us in an offensive against God.
Temptation: too high a view of yourself, hiding God’s holiness, and playing up God’s love.
Accusation: too low a view of yourself, hiding God’s love and playing up God’s holiness.
Types of Temptations: Bait & Hook, Rationalizing sin as a virtue, Showing us the sins of leaders to justify our sins, Magnifying God’s mercy over God’s holiness, and Becoming bitter over our suffering.
Types of Accusations: Causing us to look more at our sin than we do at our Savior, causing us to obsess over things we’ve done that have caused damage that can’t be undone, making us think pain is a punishment from God, and making us feel alone in the struggle.
Repentance: confess your sins to God and look seven times at our Savior.
