POINTS:
There are two main streams of thought for dealing with anger: secular or religious.
A secular approach to anger emphasizes empathy over justice.
A religious approach to anger is like spraying spiritual Febreze for our anger.
A third and Biblical approach to anger is that anger is necessary and should be expressed.
The Bible tells us it is always wrong to deny our anger.
We must deal with the root of our anger not just the fruit of our anger.
Anger is energy expressed toward something bad that threatens something good.
Never being angry means you are out of touch with the reality of this world.
The Psalmist owns and expresses his anger, but does so in prayer.
The Psalmist also limits his anger.
The term “remember” means a call to action.
God is the only One who has the knowledge, power, and right to judge.
As Christians, we must pray differently by praying at the Cross.
We don’t just pray for our anger; we pray for the cause of our anger.
Forgiveness is paying the debt against you.
Forgiveness is the action of asking mercy for those that hurt us.
