Main Scripture: Psalm 73, 12:26

Additional Scriptures: Romans 10:9, 2 Corinthians 5:7, John 6:53-56, 6:66

POINTS:

  • Doubt is defined as a “big” feeling of uncertainty.

  • Spiritual vertigo is when we lose our balance in our walk in faith because of something we experience.

  • Doubt is characterized as “spiritual vertigo”.

  • It should be concerning to begin journeys with certainties.

  • Like a walking stick for times when our feet slip, the Bible is well-balanced.

  • Spiritual vertigo is not about reasoning.

  • Spiritual vertigo it is about what you see.

  • There are four things to do with doubt: doubt your doubts, go to church, choose the firmest place to put your foot, feel for God’s hand.

  • We must distill out of our doubts our own dishonesty.

  • There are always honest and dishonest parts of your doubt.

  • We get into our doubts through experience with people.

  • Experience with the people of God will help get us out of doubts.

  • Doubts are never choosing between belief and non-belief.

  • Doubts are choosing what to believe.

  • In our walk of faith we may not be able to prove God exists definitively, but we can’t prove that He doesn’t.

  • Everywhere you step is always an act of faith.
