POINTS:

• If you are searching for God, it’s only because God has first called you.

• To find God and know Him personally is to have an entirely new agenda for your life.

• All Christians are called.

• No one searches for the real God, we search, instead, for counterfeit gods.

• Two primary counterfeit gods:

  • A god of all morality - we want to be our own savior.

  • A god of all acceptance - we want to be our own lord.

• The Pattern of the Call:

  • God calls you - you don’t initiate the search.

  • He gives you an encounter with Him that doesn’t fit into the framework of your counterfeit god. (Burning bush)

  • God calls you out of that old way of life.

  • God calls you up to a higher purpose

  • God places you on a team.
