THR!VE: The Fruit of the Spirit
THR!VE
THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT
(Pastor Mitch Boese)
November 19, 2023
Main Scripture: Galatians 5:13-26
Additional Scriptures: Titus 3:4-7, 2 Timothy 2:13, Matthew 11:29
POINTS:
The Fruit isn’t from you and isn’t you - but it is for you.
Jesus is gracious to grant us His fruit to be in us - if we “crucify” our sinful nature and allow the Spirit to reign in us.
We cannot inherit the Kingdom of God if we live by the flesh.
Love: The power that moves us to respond to another’s needs without expectation of reward.
Joy: An inward hope and exuberance despite outward circumstances.
Peace: Both a supernatural calm amid chaos and the ability to bring harmony to divided factions.
Patience: The quiet willingness to accept irritating or painful situations. (It doesn’t mean waiting but how we respond to the waiting.)
Kindness: Generosity and consideration toward others.
Goodness: Moral excellence
Faithfulness: Enduring loyalty and trustworthiness.
Gentleness: The power to control your reactions to difficult people and situations, it should not be confused with weakness.
Self-control: The ability to restrain inappropriate passions and appetites.
